150 years ago today the first oil was found in Pennsylvania. This marked the beginning of the oil era in which we still live. Of course, there are great celebrations (see the program). Now, 150 years later, it is highly likely that we have reached the peak of the oil era and it remains to be seen how we will cope with the down-slope. In 150 years there will be very little oil left. One can well contemplate what our world would have become without oil.

Idag för 150 år sedan hittade man den första oljan i Pennsylvania och det markerar starten får den oljeålder som vi fortfarande lever i. Självfallet firar man stort (se program). Nu 150 år senare har vi med stor sannolikhet nått toppen av oljeåldern och det återstår att se hu vi skall klara nedförsbacken. Om 150 år finns det ytterst lite olja kvar. Självfallet kan man fundera över hur vår värld hade sett ut utan olja.
