The journal World Oil is the first to have written a review of my book “Peeking at Peak Oil” that will be released in three weeks at the end of May. Springer sent out a number of copies of the book to various newspapers and journals and World Oil chose to write about my book in its May issue. It is wonderful to read what they think and I am especially pleased with the way they have put it:
Dr. Aleklett, a physicist, is a leading expert, and this book should be required reading for anyone seriously interested in the future world energy market and economy, especially politicians and policymakers.
World Oil: New analysis of peak oil is refreshingly comprehensive

Hej Kjell,
Kul med positiv kritik redan!
Hur gör man om man vill få boken så snabbt som möjligt? Dröjer den svenska översättningen?
Hälsningar

No Peak Oil worries in America, so says FORBES Magazine and various spokespersons for energy companies and industry lobbyists. Now, if only we can get through the decade without any false moves in the Middle East. If Israel and Iran stay apart. If Syria and Egypt can keep their hands off Israel, withstanding Islamic genes programmed to redraw the maps of the region, without the Jewish homeland. ISIS (Anthony Cordesman) suggests in updated analyses the sobering level of effects (on oil flows) of even the most limited of military engagement involving Muslim Nation States Vs. Israel.
ASPO-USA asks for input for policymakers… Tahoe Valley Lines maintains previously stated positions regarding need for US railway capacity expansion and route miles extension to previously served local points. Several brand new rail corridors are apparent, particularly on the west coast, to relieve bottlenecks. Three notable new line projects are between Sacramento and Carson City, NV, along the US50 Corridor; new line between Marysville, CA and Healdsburg, CA, to facilitate California north coast rail service; and, Nevada line connecting Reno/Carson and Las Vegas, NV.
Two notable bottlenecks on the left coast are: Bakersfield to Palmdale; and redesigned alignment between Roseville CA., and Reno, NV, as per the 1945 Kaiser Engineers plan. Railway enhancement is the single most crucial item in an American Peak Oil solution set, a requisite “Guarantor Of Societal & Commercial Cohesion”. Even America’s trading adversaries can admit to self-interest concerning North American ability to export substantial volumes of grain when called upon to do so.
The threat of weather extremes and or man-made events impacting American goods and victuals movement is a worldwide concern, even if it includes considerations as mundane as the status and viability of American railways…
