FOKUS: “The transition will be immediate”
Sweden’s news magazine FOKUS, (that is issued once a week), came to Uppsala for a lunch to discuss the theme of Peak Oil. I share a name with the journalist who visited, Kjell Vowles, and he arrived well prepared on the train from Stockholm. Among other things he had attended and listened to the debate on the Finance Department’s Peak Oil report. It is always interesting to discuss Peak Oil with interested journalists and the risk is that one winds up sitting and talking for two hours while every word is recorded. Sometimes one can say a sentence or two that is insufficiently considered. However, they are welcome to those I suppose. Kjell Vowles apologised for the introductory sentence of the FOKUS article that was composed by headline editor. Fair enough for I have never said that “the oil will run out” and neither have I “surrendered” my entire life to oil rather than possibly “dedicating” it. Sveriges Nyhetsmagasin FOKUS, som kommer ut en gång per vecka, kom till Uppsala för en lunch över temat Peak Oil. Det var min namne Kjell Vowles som väl förberedd kom med tåget från Stockholm. Han hade bland annat varit med och lyssnat på debatten runt finansdepartementets Peak Oil-rapport. Det är alltid intressant att diskutera med intresserade journalister och risken då man sitter och pratar under två timmar och varje ord spelas in är att någon mening kan vara minder genomtänkt, men det får man bjuda på. Kjell Vowles ber om ursäkt får den inledande meningen som är komponerad av rubriksättaren. Det var bra för jag har aldrig sagt ”att oljan tar slut” och sedan har jag inte ”vikt hela mitt liv åt olja” utan möjligen ”vigt”.
