The Fracking Highway 72 – the Tunnel of Death

This weekend we will travel to Eagle Ford and along “the Fracking Highway”. From Austin we will drive south along HW183 to Gonzales where, according to the experts, fracking in the Eagle Ford begins. Gonzales is one of Texas’ historical towns and was founded in 1825. (Gonzales is one of the earliest Anglo-American settlements in Texas – the first west of the Colorado River. It was established in August 1825 by Empresario Green DeWitt as the capital of his colony) We will then continue along HW183 to Cuero where HW72 begins. HW72 has been called “The Tunnel of Death” because it is along HW72 that all the large trucks with fracking equipment etc. travel at very high speeds. The advice we have been given is to match their driving speed. Today’s fracking “Boom Town” is said to be Three Rivers, and it will be exciting to visit it. We are looking forward to a big adventure.
